Lake Mary, FL— Excel Publishers announces a trail-blazing initiative with My Healthy Church, a direct to church distributor and publisher of Christian resources through the Assemblies of God. The partnership will launch Salubris Publishing, a custom imprint for Christian writers who are called to speak spiritual truth to the world today.
The November 1, 2013 launch of Salubris Publishing will utilize Excel’s state-of-the-art typesetting program and capability to print books upon request in just 24 hours or less. The white-label service will facilitate high-speed publishing in ebook and print format to the consumer and trade markets.
“The Assemblies of God is one of the largest Pentecostal denominations in the world, so it’s exciting to be involved in a project like this,” says Tom Freiling, director of Excel Publishers and founder of Xulon Press. “We are honored to have the opportunity to work with this denomination, and be able to offer this platform.”
Salubris will present three tiers of publishing packages for potential authors, including options for social media promotion and book micro sites. Books published under this imprint also have the ability to reach markets in the United States and Latin America, including the preference for Spanish language translation.
Steve and Susan Blount, co-publishers of Salubris, say the partnership with My Healthy Church came to fruition at an opportune time.
“We have been looking for a partner to work with us to create a custom publishing solution that extends our ability to offer even more authors a platform for sharing their stories,” Blount said. “We believe with Excel we have found the best solution.”
With the ability to publish non-fiction, fiction, leadership, Christian living, devotionals, young adult, children’s books, and more, Salubris aims to reach beyond the 66 million members of the denomination with the unchanged Biblical mandate the Assemblies of God will soon carry into its 100th year. Authors interested in knowing more about this publishing option are encouraged to visit www.SalubrisPublishing.com.
Excel Publishers is a self-publishing imprint of Charisma House, Charisma Media’s book group. Charisma House has published eleven New York Times best sellers including The Harbinger by Jonathan Cahn, Fasting by Jentezen Franklin, 23 Minutes In Hell by Bill Wiese, and The Seven Pillars of Health by Don Colbert, MD.
Lake Mary, FL— The cross of Jesus Christ is offensive. Its implications, an outrage. Its message, scandalous. International speaker and author, Rod Parsley delves into this shocking Biblical declaration in his latest book release, The Cross (Charisma House, 2013).
Parsley says at the time of Jesus’ crucifixion the message of the cross was a stumbling block for the religious, tradition-loving Jews and an absurdity to the intellectual Greeks. Those are essentially the same two responses of all who reject that message today.
“In a nation where a cross once topped every new church steeple and figured prominently in the interior architecture of every new house of worship, the cross has fallen out of fashion,” Parsley says.
He states that the cross is disappearing from our cityscapes and church platforms, by our own choice. We have degraded the significance of the cross to miniscule emblems of fashion and décor.
“In a broader, profounder, and more troubling sense we’ve been voluntarily removing it from our hearts and minds,” he continues. “Silently, steadily, stealthily—without fanfare or debate—we have slipped the cross out of our preaching, from our singing, and from our daily living. As a result, the cross is fading from our collective Christian consciousness.”
Parsley calls for a cross-less generation to return to the hallmark of its faith. In The Cross, he utilizes his well-known teaching style, taking readers on a journey of discovery into the power, majesty and beauty of the cross. Readers will learn in a new way, how to reclaim that power in life.
“One thing is certain,” Parsley says, “there is no triumphant, culture transforming Christianity, without the cross.”
Rod Parsley is the author of more than fifty books, including his New York Times best seller Culturally Incorrect and his most recent Living on Our Heads. An international speaker for the past thirty years, he has appeared on numerous media outlets, and his daily television program is viewed by millions worldwide. He is the president and founder of the Center for Moral Clarity, the founder of Harvest Preparatory School and Valor Christian College, and the senior pastor and founder of World Harvest Church in Columbus, Ohio, where he resides with his wife, Joni, and their two children.
