Verse of the Day

LAKE MARY, FL—The drastic shifts in gender and sexual identity, marriage identity, and even national identity point to one thing: our need for God. In his book Abba (Sept. 5, 2017) Matthew L. Stevenson III calls for readers to seek their identity in God and encounter Him as God the Father.

Stevenson says, “We have taken identity formation into our own hands, and what this theft has accomplished is a vacuum of security and purpose on the earth. God’s creation is desperate for a deeper revelation of God’s identity. We need His identity branded on our hearts to accomplish the kingdom mandate on our lives, individually and collectively as the body of Christ.”

Abba reveals new levels of purpose and deliberate living so that readers can build confidence in their identity in God. Stevenson also discusses how Satan’s distortion of the father role fractures not only personal identity but also a sense of security.

In a culture where the father role, the father commitment, and the father endurance are all under attack, Stevenson urges for a fresh glimpse at who God is as Father and an understanding of how receiving Him in that way can change our lives and our destiny.

“To receive the fullness of this revelation of God’s identity as Father, you are going to have to put down the ideas of the past pains, hurts, rejection, and trauma you may have experienced at the hand of your natural father,” Stevenson says.

Stevenson also breaks down cultural and humanistic definitions of God. He says, “God is so much more than anything we can ever conceptualize.”

Jennifer LeClaire, best-selling author of Jezebel’s Puppets, says, “At a time when the world—and even many in the church—are confused about who they really are, Matthew Stevenson offers compassionate guidance to people who have suffered father hurts, deal with rejection issues, and struggle to truly understand God’s heart in Abba. With keen insight and a relatable style Matthew sets the stage for readers to receive a revelation of God’s love that brings healing to known and hidden wounds in their souls.”

Stevenson is a powerful governmental prophet and an apostolic overseer. He has been in ministry for sixteen years and has served as the senior pastor of All Nations Worship Assembly for twelve years. He holds three academic degrees in the areas of leadership, education, and ministry. He oversees more than sixty ministries through The GATE Network, which is a family of churches and ministries around the world that look to him for supervision, oversight, and apostolic leadership. He is the husband of Dr. Kamilah Stevenson and the father of three.
